One Flower Wednesday

I lost a day last week somewhere. Come Wednesday i was wondering why every one was posting flowers. Was very puzzled until i realised “damn it is Wednesday & i haven’t done my flowers”. I did get them made but not posted.  as time got away again with making another cloak which i didn’t get a photo of it.
Boy was that a nightmare. The young lad decided he wanted his in satin & with a caplet. He wanted to make it himself but has no experience with sewing. Oh dear. Cutting out was mostly wrong. Had seams where it should’ve been cut on fold. Cut on a fold where a seam should’ve been. Then to cap it off he didn’t have enough satin so i had to find other black material for the front sections. I kindly offered to sew it together for him. Oh it’s together now with much effort & cursing. :) Just wish i’d gotten a photo.

This arrived last week . The next in the series of “someday quilts” by Clare O’Donohue. Quite a good read. It’s a mystery novel with quilting thrown in.

Have just started a book by Cindy Woodsmall called When the Heart Cries, it is 1 of a set of 3, so far is quite good.
Have the other set you have (the Telling) but haven't gotten to those ones yet!
Will have to look for the other Cindy Woodsmall ones.
Thanks for the book recommendations!

I have to look up the books you have. Sounds great to read them. Not sure if they already translated into Dutch though.

Sweet flowers this week. I feel guilty if I miss a week of posting, but we aren't going to be arrested by any quilt police, so I try not to get too upset with myself.
Thanks for the book recommendations. Any books connected with quilting are worth the time.

All your hexies are coming along so nicely. And thanks for sharing your reading interests. Funny but I DO know of Beverly Lewis and have read several of her books, but have never heard of Cindy Woodsmall! Could it be because you and I live on different continents!?

Lovely hexies Jeanette. I like Cindy Woodsmall's books too - the Sisters of the Quilt trilogy is excellent and just about to come out in one book I noticed (much cheaper!). I have read the first of the Ada's House books as well but have been waiting for the 2nd one and the Sound of Sleigh Bells to come out in paperback...I think I may be placing a little order this morning

Lovely hexies, the gingham one caught my eye also. I know how you feel with your last sewing project, sometimes things just don;'t go smoothly.

Oh, I have sworn off hexagons as they are so labor intensive no matter how great they look.
I have made note of your book recomendations. I love to read but finding good books in English can be a challenge here in Japan.
