Saturday with the Chookshed party

Joining in with Chookyblue via a virtual retreat i hoped would get me working on ufo's. Yesterday it did. I finished this little hanging off so it didn't become along term project like the quilt did.
This quilt i worked on back in 2008/09 i think. All it need was to be put together the border hearts sen on.
I was hoping to take a photo outside but it's to windy & still a little dull from all the rain yesterday. I've 10 border hearts to go. Now to find what projects to work on today. There's plenty to choose from. :)

Trip Around the World.

I've only been working with my hand piecing this week. I had hoped to be finished but realised i was being overly ambitious with that time frame. I doubt i'll be finished by the end of next week. It takes so long to go around with each row. I've gotten 2 rows on this week & started a 3rd last night. Still 3 more rows to add before i add the final triangle border. I'll end up with 25 rows by then. the photo shows the quilt at 20 rows. I added about half of 21 last night after i took this photo.
Now i'm off to join Chookyblue's virtual stitching weekend to celebrate her Chookshed's 4th birthday.

My Sewing Week

I finished the borders to Fields of Lavender
Very hard to get a good photo of them. :(.

Then during the week i forced myself into the sewing are & have 3 finishes. I was asked is my mojo back. No it isn't i'm just making myself do it there isn't any enthusiasm for sewing/quilting yet. I work on projects at night because sewing whilst watching tv is easier than reading & watching tv. :)

On my sewing table was another little project from the Gail Pan tutor weekend which needed some work done to it. I'd finished 2 little baskets at the tutor weekend & the 3rd cut out when time ran out.
Wednesday night i finished the 3rd basket & added the embroidery. Now to decide whether to do the other 6 baskets from the pattern or just make a small project with these 3.

After that i decided it's time to work on my Trip Around the World again. Thursday afternoon i spent cutting out the needed squares for another 5 rows.
& have started adding them.

FNSI May & lost mojo

Last night i joined our lovely hostess Wendy for Friday Night Sew In. As i seem to have post my mojo all that was done was finish the stitching on a little stitchery i started Thursday night.
Not sure what i'll make it into yet.

Pop over to Wendy's blog for links to see what everyone else got up to last night.

Just a little stitching.

Not a lot happening in the way of sewing here. I've been stitching the Christmas stitchery on & off for the past week. Flare up of excruciating pain doesn't allow me to do a lot.

FNwF's May

I'd forgotten when i signed up for FNwF's that i'd be out most of Friday & wasn't sure what time in the evening i'd be getting home & if i'd get any stitching done at all. Luckily I arrived back just in time for Better Homes & Garden followed by Grantchester. All i had left on the final block for Fields Of Lavender was half of 1 flower, the border, stems & french knots.
I noticed after i took a photo the flowers look like little faces. Unfortunately for me for some reason back when i traced the blocks out i didn't cut & trace the borders. Now i have to see if i've any of the background fabric left. I can't even go to the shop i bought it from as they are having a closing down sale & all the tone on tones are gone. :(. As i really liked this print i'm sure there is another big piece in the bottom of the cupboard.

Pop over to visit our lovely hostess Cheryll to find the links to see what everyone got up to last night.

2 posts in one day, it's a miracle 😊

After I finished i traced this Christmas stitchery
And retraced the 4th stitchery from the previous posts collection

More Stitching

Some time back i was inspired to trace out a quilt i'd wanted to do for ages but as with all things it was partially started then pushed aside. Last week i finally got back to it. The stitcheries are from a quilt called Fields Of Lavender by Red Brolly. It was in a Homespun back in 2004.
I went to start the 3rd block & discovered i'd traced it onto the wrong side of the fabric. So glad i wasn't half way through stitching it as that would have been a disaster.  So i started the 4th block instead.

Stitcheries

I've finally finished the stitcheries for In My Garden. Still haven't chosen fabrics for the rest of the quilt. Be a job for this week.

As i want to make the bag on the front cover i've started to stitch the panel that goes on the bag.
A little finish i had during the week for the kitten mini swap i'm in
I thought the design was so cute. I'm planning on making the whole quilt for myself. The design was free from Jodie.

Happy stitching,
