August medallions

My August medallions are done. I'll have to lay them out soon & see how I want to sew them together once I have them all.

How did it get to be August already? Anyway yesterday i joined in with our lovely hostess Cheryll & lots of other ladies for Friday Night with Friends

I needed to bind a quilt that i'd received back from Fiona last month so i started the day by making the binding & then attaching it by machine. As always Fiona has weaved her magic & the quilting is beautiful.

This is Ice Cream Soda. It was an EPP bom from Tales Of Cloth in 2017. All the flowers came from my scrap basket & the borders from my stash. The only thing i bought for it was the backing. The top was completed in January 2018 & it has been patiently waiting it's turn to be quilted.

The afternoon/evening was spent hand stitching the binding down whilst watching a series on Netflix.

After i machined the binding down i ironed on the transfer for block 6 of my Christmas BOM.

Now i'd better get busy stitching. :)

After i'd put the last stitch in the binding i added a few stitches to this little stitchery.

I managed to get the bird done on the bottom half before bed called me.

Christmas BOM

I've just finished stitching block 5 of Twelve Days of Christmas BOM by Fig 'n' Berry. Just in time as block 6 is due to arrive.

Baking

I was given a bag of home grown oranges by my daughter & was wondering what I should make. With an abundance of eggs from my chooks cooking was in order.

First up was whole orange cake

Next I made the little white chocolate & cranberry loaves.

I need to work on my drizzle skills. 😊.

FNSI July

Yay i finally managed a Friday of sewing. Thankyou to Wendy for hosting us again

 I started the day with a some what boring chore, taking up a pair of pants for my daughter. The pants took ages as they were kind of a wrap around like a skirt so each leg was quite wide in the hem area & stretchy fabric too. Other things happened after that so i didn't get back to any sewing until evening.

I'd joined Joy in her Christmas in July stitchalong. I was behind having only completed one stitchery by the time Joy had given us the 3rd design. So last evening i sat & stitched numbers 2 & 3.

July medallions

I have made my July medallions over the last 2 evenings. Just need to give them a press & then 1 can wing it's way off to my July partner.

Thanks Cheryll for hosting us again for FNwF

Nothing went to plan. I came down with a migraine on Thursday so out went any plans for me. Friday evening i felt ok enough to add a few more coffins to my quilt.

I finished off one row & started another. The end is nearly in sight for a finish on this top.

Christmas stitching

It's been a while since i posted so i had to think hard as to what i've been working on. 1st was to catch up on my BOM from Fig 'n' Berry stitches before number 5 arrived.  Just in time too as 5 arrives this week. :)

Then i stitched up the blocks from Gail Pan's Christmas BOM.

Just need to trim them & add the borders.

The bonus project is also stitched

After that i completed these 5 little ornaments from Marg Low. I'd prepped them earlier this year so they quick & easy to stitch up over a couple of nights.

Next out of the prepped project box was this stocking. I finished the stitching part last night.

It's machine sewn together & a top added that matches the heel & toe.

June medallion

I figured i'd better get my June medallions done out of the way before June zooms by & all i see is a cloud of dust & wonder where did June go i such a hurry.

I hope my partner for this month likes her medallion.

Partying with Chookyblue

I'm a bit late with my post but i did join in with Chookyblue to celebrate the Chookshed's birthday.

Friday night i did some embroidery. The plain stitching was finished off on this block ready for the satin stitch.

Now that number 3 is nearly finished i hope i can get block 4 done before 5 arrives.

Saturday i started binding this quilt with a little help from my furry friend

Then that evening as i was handsewing the binding down she though it would make a good bed again

 I had only about 1/4 of the binding left before i had to go to bed. Sunday saw me out of action for the day but i finished the binding Sunday evening.

The finished quilt ready to be gifted to my daughter. Beautiful quilting done by the quilting fairy Fiona.
