FNSI saw me working on the owl & hare hollow blocks. I started with this block sewing down the circle onto the block.
Moving onto glueing hexiesThere was 40 of those. The other 20 have been turned into thisNearly ready to stitch to the block. :)

Month 4 is done & dusted & the month 5 blocks are started.
Last night i put the last stitch in the blocks for month 3. So much work & month 4 isn't any better. :)
The owl i did buttonhole stitch again. Eyes & beak are satin stitch.Things didn't go according to plans. :) I thought i'd better actually finish the 4 little projects from April Chookshed challenge. Yeh i know but better late than never.
First up was this tiny needlecase
Thanks to Netflix having so much choice to watch i've been spending afternoon/evenings stitching up these blocks. All these blocks are paper pieced then sewn down by applique. The large circles are cut out of 4 squares sewn together then appliqued. The rabbit is buttonhole stitched.
is brought to you by the colour orange,
Hmm terrible photo as some of the oranges look brown & some pink.........number 5. Schoolgirl sampler gets a look in again & hopefully will be top this time. Here is where i left it last year when it ended up in the naughty corner.
despite careful sewing & cutting things just weren't fitting together as they should. As i had a heap of blocks left to make & the centre last year the last thing i felt like doing was remaking those small blocks so hence the naughty corner. :)
Happy Stitching,
At the start of the month this is where i was at with Owl & Hare Hollow. I knew i wouldn't get it into a top as there is just so much hand work in this quilt. Here is where i was at to begin with at the start of the month.
I've been making up a Lucy block every now & again for a while so when i finished one the other night i thought i'd better do a count to see how many i had. I got a surprise when i counted them. :)
Total count is 43. The last count was 34. Number 44 was started last nightAnother reason to do a count was i'm running out of these shapes & i really don't want to buy more. I guess it's time to start joining them together. Oh i just have another12 to make. :) :).An early start saw the making of the green blocks for RSC. I'd cut them out Thursday afternoon so i could get stuck right in. :)
the easy block first, potato chip. :)then the fiddly buttonsfollowed by the kites.number 8. Time to break out Owl & Hare Hollow & try to get it made into a top. I was doing well with the stitcheries when the quilt first came out & just stopped when i have 2 i think left. Nothing else was done with the remaining blocks as you will see in the 2nd photo the pile of fabrics that came with the kit.
Happy Stitching,
They shall grow not old,
as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them.
We will remember them
Lest we forget
Years back i saw Linda Collins Panama Pyramids quilt & foolishly thought i'd like to make one so bought the templates
Fast forward & i spotted on Instagram 2 ladies i follow making the blocks. Feeling a bit inspired i found up the templates & my basket of scrap repro fabrics & set to. Quick to cut out but takes me a little time to handpiece. :) I've made 2 over 2 nights. lol.Maybe i'll just cut out the larger joining triangles & turn it into a doll quilt. :) :). I really don't see me making a large quilt but you just never know. lolFNSI saw me working on the owl & hare hollow blocks. I started with this block sewing down the circle onto the block.
