Another Finish for February, Spider & a pattern I Won

I spotted this spider necklace on an etsy shop, ozbushfireappeal, that was set up for sellers who donated the funds to the fire appeal. It somehow appealed to me. The designer has an etsy shop called "mycreationz". The pattern i won from Sue. Have to add this to my "one day" box. :) And the last photo is my 2nd finish for February. It's a binder cover from Joy at Joypatch.
Looks like it needs an ironing. Guess that's what comes of being eager to show another finish - taking it straight from being washed & dryed to photograph it without putting the folder in. HeeHee.

Pressie to myself

This lovely copper bracelet arrived in the mail for me today.
I bought it from Kris who is donating money from her sales to the bushfire appeal. Sorry it's not a great photo but it has a fleur di lise stamped on it & on either end my name & birthdate.

A Finish for February (at last)

I have finally finished my Mum's birthday present. In the nick of time i might add. Also my first finish for February. This another of the lovely JoyPatch patterns. Its called "love You To Bits!' It can be found on Joy's webpage. Unfortunately my embroidery colours aren't showing up the best. I tried to match them to the fabric colours which are my Mum's favourites. I'd also like to thank everyone who leaves comments. I do appreciate them. I've been meaning to say THANKYOU! for quite while. My only excuse is i get distracted reading everyones blogs. :)

Bushfire Blocks

This is what my afternoon of sewing produced.
I got carried away with cutting the 4-1/2" squares so i made 4 blocks to send to Tia to be made into quilts. The wonky stars aren't hard to do. I enjoyed making them so much. Great way to use up all those scraps.

Embroidery

My House Elf has been watching me embroider & asked me to show him how. Found this simple pattern & i cut the block. He traced it himself & then chose his own colours. Not bad for first time embroidering.

Cats,China & Embroidery

I could hear strange noises in my sewing cabinet the other day. Upon investigating discovered one of the cats had decided it was a fine sleeping place. Just had to take photo of Garfield looking all cosy in his chosen spot. I recieved an email from the lady i bought the Crinoline china from wanting to know if i'd like these 2 pieces before she listed on eBay. As you can see i said yes. Then yesterday Gail posted part 2 of her delightful Christmas BOM & i just had to do it. Of course my other sewing got shoved aside. I was busy embroidering part one of the lovely basket BOM from Anne. I've decided to do both the redwork & applique versions of the baskets. The redwork is nearly finished & the applique for part 2 is prepared.

Verandah Views Pt 2 finished

I finished this on Tuesday evening but this is the first chance i've had to put the photo on the computer. I had fun embroidering this lovely stitchery. Can't wait until Cheryl posts the next part.

My Week and a Giveaway

Last week when reading blogs i came across a blog with some beautiful crinoline china. Then i read the magic word eBay. Well did that ring a bell so i went surfing. At first no success but i did find a lovely 3 tiered cake plate that i've been looking for for a while. I haven't received it yet. Then i had the inspiration to type in Crinoline Lady. As you can see from these 2 photo's i found a lovely table runner & these lovely bits & pieces of china.
Then on Friday i went into my local store for the fabrics for the Redwork cushion swap. I can't decide between 2 patterns so i bought fabric, ribbon, ric rac & red/white daisy chain for both. The bottom 4 fabrics i also bought are for a binder cover for my SIL's birthday. Pattern can be found at Joy's web site. On my way home i dropped into the 2nd hand shop down the street from me. I was in luck the lovely china teaset i've been eyeing off for a few months now was still there so i lay-byed it. This is a lucky find as it all there having survived a trip from Scotland as a lot of the sets the shop owner brought over had pieces broken from them when customs searched the shipping container.

Sunday night was pizza making night. I tried out Joe's pizza base & tomato sauce recipes. Also added were Joe's marinated wild mushrooms. Very tasty. This is only 1of the 3 pizza's made that night.

The lady whom i bought the Crinoline china off happens to live in the same suburb as me so i went back & bought the 3 lovely pieces.

Who could resist beautiful china? I have been sewing in case you were wondering. I've prepared the ???? i'm making for the Easter swap & I've been stitching block 2 of verandah views.
