November Finishes

i spent today finishing some stitcheries i’ve had sitting for a while. The hearts i’d gotten ready for last Christmas but ran out of time. I only got half of one done & there they sat until a month or so ago.Picture 073

One Flower Wednesday

Yesterday i spent the day making templates of the 1” hexagons & taking the centres out of the 1/2” hexagons.  I was fortunate that the 1” website was bookmarked but the website i used for printing out the 1/2” hexagons has disappeared with all the goings on with this computer lately. I just didn’t have the time to search for the website yesterday. Hopefully i’ll have my new computer next week. :)

That done it was time to choose fabrics. Hmmm which ones, which ones? Decision made & this is what i ended up preparing.

Picture 025

9 piles of 1” hexies & 10 piles of the 1/2” hexies.

Sewed 4 by 1” hexies up,

Catching Up

Due to many things i got behind in some BOM’s i was working on. I have finally caught up on Lisa’s  lovely heart BOM.
 Picture 022
I think Lisa posted these 2 blocks back in July/August. So far behind. :)
Picture 023
I started on Dawn's lovely Frosty Flakes BOM but it also was put aside. Got back to them over the weekend. I had 6 left to do. Now only have the embroidery on 1 & the last one both the hexagons to sew down & the embroidery & it can be put together. :)

My life.:)

As i was posting yesterday's blog about my hexies it came to me that they are all i seem to blog about lately. You could be forgiven if you thought that was all i’ve been doing. :) So today i set myself a task of taking photo’s of things i’ve been doing & a flower that has bloomed for me in my pot plants.Picture 005
I’ve been “growing” ginger beer plants. This is my 2nd batch. The first batch will be ready to drink this weekend.
Picture 006
My blood lily has flowered. I think the last time was maybe 2 years ago.
Picture 008
This lovely stitchery by Kaaren. Made a few of these for gifts. Now to add the borders. :)Picture 013 I started these 3 lovely heart stitcheries by Rosalie Quinlan last year but ran out of time before Christmas. Oh well at least they’ll be ready for this Christmas. :)

I wish people wouldn’t play with the settings on the camera. Grrrr

These stitcheries are from Ruby’s Sewing Nest pattern by Kathy Schmitz.
Picture 012
Somehow i missed making clamshells for the last 2 months. I sat down one day recently & made this pile up. Now i have enough made up to finally start the quilt. Yay.
So that’s what i have been doing besides making hexies & reading. :)

Hexie Day

Managed my 9 flowers again this week..... just.  I have 88 1" hexies, 48 by 1/2' hexies & 18 by 1/4" hexies. Time to think of how to sew them together... with a path or not. Decisions, decisions.

Flower Wednesday

Wednesday seems to arrive faster every week. I do wish time would slow down a bit. I managed 4 by 1" hexies this week, 4 by 1/2" hexies & 1 tiny 1/4" hexie. My bonus son decided he needed to change my windows xp to windows 7 on my computer. Not happy as  i can't find a darn thing & also have to re-install or download heaps of things. I didn't want it done on this computer as i'm getting a new one in a few weeks & now will have to do everything again. Grrr. Still trying to find where windows live writer is.
