Zooming along

Yesterday i had a fabulous Zoom chat hosted by Chookyblue. Lovely ladies from Australia, New Zealand, Canada & the US all joined in. Thanks for hosting us again Chooky, looking forward to the next one. :)

I wasn't sure if i'd be able to stitch as the last bit of my healing scar in the spot where they cut the growth from has gotten slightly infected & swollen. But i manged to do some stitching without aggravating my hand to much.

I sewed my coffins in rows of 3 then started adding them to my Halloween runner. I think i had 4 or 5 rows done already.

I added several more rows last night. I think i'm about half done.

and now it's being tested for comfort.  :)

It's finished

After i finished the applique i was in 2 minds about the tea towel. With felt on the end it wouldn't be able to be used to dry dishes. :) A decoration it is & i have added the bells & a button to finish it off. It has sat for a few days whilst i looked for rusty bells. I was sure i'd bought some but as i couldn't find any i used shiny bells.

FNSI September

Last night for FNSI i started stitching a little Christmas project. The original pattern has been stitched on towelling which i couldn't buy when i bought the pattern. I put a tea towel with the pattern & recently got them out & made up the felt. I saw the other day the vlisofix wasn't sticking very well & decided i'd better get stitching before it all fell off. As you can see by the middle piece that didn't work to well. :)

The pattern is actually made into a table runner with the pattern on both ends since i only had a tea towel it's just on one end.

Pop over to visit lovely hostess Wendy to see who joined in & their choice of projects.

Happy Stitching.

Helpers

I laid out my rosettes to see how the idea i had will work out. I'm thinking a little bigger so i need another 15 rosettes. I did think i'd need that many but as i'd used up all the prepared hexagons thought i'd start sewing rows. :) :)

After i laid them out one of my helpers thought she needed to see what it was like to lay on.

And before i could pick them up along came another helper

I'm glad the 3rd helper didn't come long but then she prefers finished quilts. haha.

Hexagon Stars

Although the stitches are still in i can start sewing again. Must say i got a shock when i saw the Dr's handywork on Friday. The lesion wasn't very big but my scar is about 1-1/2" long & has about 7 stitches in it. I'm guessing the incision was so long so that all the cancer was removed & he had enough skin to sew together so a skin graft wasn't needed. Even so i didn't think he would cut so far up my hand. :(

I'd made up all my hexagon stars so last night i started making up a row. Still not sure how big it will be. Hoping a nice lap size. I have 40 stars made up & will need to lay the m out to see if the plan in my head will work & if i need more rosettes. Then i'll need to see how to finish edges & if i want a border.

Feathered Visitors.

I heard a little noise the other day & looked out back door to see these 2 popping in to visit my birdies.

After this photo he/she wandered even closer. :)

No sewing

No sewing for me for about a week. I had a cancerous growth on my hand around the ring finger area removed yesterday. It's been removed several times over the years but keeps coming back. I knocked it several weeks back & it looked awful so i said to my Dr it needs to have something done so it doesn't grow back again. So off to do the rounds of the hospital system due to a mix up. It was just a local anesthetic & ended up going through as a general anesthetic. It was finally sorted & back to being removed under local. Before they did the surgery i was asked did i have any questions. I said no all that i ask is that you remove everything so that it doesn't grow back. :) :). I have several stitches & it hurts like all out. Looks like just reading for me this week. Sadly i have read all my books.
