I finished 2 of the stitcheries for In My Garden quilt.

Making Spirits Bright has been turned into a wallhanging

I was way behind on the 6" sampler block stitchalong but spent Friday catching up. As i was sewing the blocks one of the ladies who posts the blocks put 2 more up. I thought i'd never get done. :) Yes i did the 2 new blocks as well.

I'm in a fat 1/4 birthday swap with Sunday Stitchers & wanted to make some nice tags for the parcels.

I made these yesterday.

Anzac Centenary 1915-2015

Scraps

Last Monday (13th) i decided i'd had enough of my overflowing scraps. I've been saving scraps for maybe 15 or so years. Thinking oh "this would be good for applique or that would be useful in a quilt of some description". But very little was ever used & to add to that i was given scraps & even won a bag of scraps. I spent 7 days & 2 nights cutting those scraps into squares (one of those days being FNSI). They range from 1-1/2" to 6".

The scraps i started with Monday. What is in the big bag at the back used to all live nicely in the basket.

End result & i found a use for all the tins i collected last year. :)

What is left in the basket are pieces for a wallhanging or 2 or a tablerunner or 2.

All the little pieces left over will now be added to my compost bin. A big win for me i think.

Friday Night Sew In

I had a busy FNSI. I spent the day cutting all my scraps up into squares. More on that another time as i haven't finished. I still have about a 1/4 of a bag to go.

I joined up with some friends to do a stitch along & the stitcheries have been traced for about a week. Finally i made a start Thursday night but finished this little one last night.

received the last block for my B & C sampler quilt but waiting on one block from February still. I've been told she's getting caught up & sending but i've not seen the block yet.

Friday Night with Friends

My Friday night solely consisted of this

It took hours with all the pieces needing to be embroidered, sequins/beads added then sewn onto each other. It was getting towards midnight when i was finishing the wheels. Check pattern & discovered they were supposed to be stuffed. Oopsie mine aren't but by then i didn't care. I just wanted the train finished. I only have candy pieces to go & then i can start the wreath.

The snow flakes were finished earlier in the week. They took ages too.
