Upsized Tiggy

 As i was i town last week i took the Tiggy pattern to be enlarged. I asked the person at the shop to double it. asi was handed back the pattern the sizing was mentioned but it didn't quite click into my brain what was meant. Looking at the patterns yesterday I could see it wasn't double in size just "upsized" I'm so glad it wasn't doubled as that would have been huge. :) These large ones are for my sons future MIL.

I went to look for a nice bag to put them in but they were all for specific celebrations. I spotted some plain brown bags & had an idea to decorate them somehow. I have a babygo & found up a couple of templates that i thought would work & this is the result.

Sewcialites top

 I spent time yesterday cutting the rectangles & squares for the setting blocks ready for a sewing day today. I can happily say i now have a top. Yay me. :) :)

i wish i could say the basket of B & C scraps is empty but alas i have enough to make another quilt or 2. :)

FNSI August.

 I made an early start for FNSI catching up making blocks.

1st up yellow wonky log cabin blocks.

Next block 25 from sewcialites 3

which i posted in the Sewcialites Facebook group only to be told i had a whoopsie. Well darn it. So out came the quick unpick to fix it. Stupid thing is i had laid them all out how they were to be sewn so i really don't know how i got it around the wrong way

time to prep the pears to applique down.

That done it was late afternoon & time to relax with a movie or 2 on Netflix resulting in 4 pears done

A while back i bought 2 zygo cactus & one burst into bloom a week or so ago

the other had flowers forming & i waited patiently to see the colour only to discover they were same as this one. So disappointed as i made sure i had bought 2 different ones. :(. The freesias have been forming flower spikes & one has just opened

 The day of sewing started fairly early making blocks. 1st up was block 24 for Sewcialites

It took a little longer than i hoped. Next weeks block looks like it will be more of the same. :(

The sampler block from Joy's sew along was next.

then onto making a start on the blocks for the rainbow scrap challenge. Yellow is this months colour

I had planned to do some embroidery in the evening but ended up playing silly games on my tablet. :) :)

More finishes

 I've stopped dragging my feet & made myself get into finishing things off. Now these are done i can advance other ufo's from my basket into finishes. These projects have been sitting ready to quilt for months The other projects all still need borders ect.

Sewciliates & a finish

Blocks 22 & 23 are completed & there is only 2 blocks left to go. Cross fingers i will have a top sometime next month. :)

 

Another ufo done. It was quite easy to put together so i don't know why i took so long. :)

I was surprised the other day when i went around the side of the house & discovered this bush in full bloom. It's a jade plant i think & the first time i've ever seen it completely covered in flowers.
