First up for FNSI was to make a pumpkin for Tiggy as the crushed walnut shells that i needed had arrived Thursday.
Tiggy with her pumpkinThere might be another Tiggy or 2 on the horizon for me. Daughter #3 wants one & GD tried to take mine. She has a birthday next month so she might get a Tiggy. :)Saturday, May 16, 2026

Tiggy
A toy maker i'm not but i liked the Tiggy pattern by Bunny Hill Designs & bought it many years ago with good intentions. I even found a stripey fabric, similar to the pattern, for it at the time. :). Come Halloween time 2025 i got the pattern out, found up the fabric, felt & ribbons needed & that was that. :~. Recently i got into a discussion with my son about stuff in my sewing room & happened to show him Tiggy & darned if he didn't say his MIL would love a Tiggy. Well shoot. Fortunately i had enough of everything to make two.
All things considered i think they turned out quite well. Tiggy does come with a pumpkin but that is for another day. The only thing that didn't work out was the hats. Enter Temu & t he right size i needed. :) They got a bit squashed in transit but the suited my purpose so i was happy.Sunday, May 3, 2026
FNwF May.
I'd forgotten Friday was FNwF until i came across a post in my Facebook feed. :) Luckily i had a project ready to work on. lol.
I do wish people would double check their patterns. On the back is says a cut 13" square. No matter whether i'm embroidering or doing applique i usually cut my backgrounds an inch larger. I proceeded to iron on the pattern & then i happened to glance at the instructions & it says cut a 15" square. I was quite annoyed. I know someone will say "read instructions first" & i usually do but as it seemed to me to be a simple case of embroidery i didn't feel the need until it was ready for the finishing stage.
I should be able to make it work to look like the pattern but if not i will turn it into a hanging rather than a mat.
and after 2 nights of stitching i'm up to hereSaturday, April 25, 2026

FNSI April
An early start was made. Catching up on blocks again. lol. I'd better do the block released today sometime today so i'm not playing catch up all the time. In my defence i did have my grandson most of this week. :)
Then onto a 3 part ufo. The tags were finished of & the pieces for the bag cut out.Another ufo was put together & i started hand quilting around the circlesHappy Stitching,Saturday, April 11, 2026

Scrappy Sew Along
Finished the top today for the sewalong. The inner border was done a week or so ago. All i needed to do was piece the final border & attach.
The top looks squiffy but it's not. I just need to press it but the ironing board was otherwise occupied. :) :)A little surprise for me the other day. Only the one this year but i'm happy that i'm managing to keep the orchids alive.Sunday, March 22, 2026
Finishes
I'm finally getting to my ufo pile of small projects. Some have things still needing to be done & others just need backing & wadding. I now have a pile that needs quilting. :) Those are on the backburner for a few days as i don't want to keep changing feet.
The mug rug was from a free stitchery that Joy gave us last year.
and 1 of the sashiko panels is now a hangingHappy Stitching,Saturday, March 21, 2026

Scrappy Sew Along week 7
This weeks blocks are shoofly blocks. I had printed out the schedule when i the sew along was announced & didn't realise it had been updated so i cut out 7 instead of 6.
asked my grandson to choose one to be rejected & he was a bit excited about that. lolthe reject. :( My brain was off with fairies yesterday. Cut all the squares at 2-1/2" when most should have been 2". Then when adding up what i needed to cut for the 1/2 square triangles forgot that i would get 2 out of each piece so i had double the number needed. That's ok i just made the leftovers into pinwheels.Saturday, March 7, 2026

More flowers
This weeks blocks for the scrappy sew along are pieced flowers. The leaf part nearly went to the naughty corner before a light bulb moment but not before there was a bit of fabric wasted. Ah well all part & parcel of learning new things. Luckily though the pieces were only little. :)

FNSI February
I had totally forgotten it was FNSI yesterday until i saw a post on FB pop up. Sew what did i do for FNSI ? I finished making up these tiny tumbling blocks. The diamonds are 3/4"

Owl & hare Hollow
Yesterday was spent adding the final borders to Owl & Hare Hollow. I started the stitcheries back in 2023 when the BOM came out in Homespun. I think i only did about 6 then abandoned the project. Last year i dragged it out & did all the blocks. A couple days ago i trimmed all the blocks & chopped up strips for the strippy borders. Today i can finally say it's a flimsy. It's not perfect by any means but i'm calling it DONE.
When i walk to the shops i pass a couple of agaves & have been watching them shoot up the flower spikes. They have flowered & i remembered to take photo's. :) The spikes a really tall.Happy Stitching.

Pattern Beanie Season is Fig "n" Berry Creations pattern.Friday, February 13, 2026
