Busy day

I'd been given bush lemons to make lemon butter. My tree only sprouted 4 & my brothers tree 12. Luckily i had 16 eggs from my chickens & could make up several batches. Many hours later i had 9-1/2 jars.
Next up was a butterscotch self saucing pudding
It was delicious.

I'd  been trying to resist a BOM called Round We Go by Sue Daley buf i happened to see a post by Voodoo Rabbit with fabrics a lot different to what I'd seen on offer by other shops. I quite liked the choices i seen but felt time to be different so i caved & signed up. Prep time last night.
A little bit of  a Halloween feel to some of the fabrics.  ðŸ˜ŠðŸ˜Š.

My Week of Sewing

I got stuck into Ice cream Soda after last Friday's effort & finished them off by Thursday night
Yesterday i sat down to prep coffins but i ran out of paper shapes. I'm seriously thinking i should buy a scan n cut so i can cut all my own papers as i go through so many & that is with reusing them several times. The lovely ladies from our online group have been swapping fabrics in the hope of not having a repeat in our coffin quilts making it a true charm quilt. So far so good for me. These coffins are from 2 ladies in our group.
I worked on the coffin quilt last night. I managed to get them sewn along the top & nearly all down the side when i had to go to bed. Falling asleep isn't good for sewing. :)

FNSI July

This is all i achieved for FNSI. It was not a good day for me as a family member was having major brain surgery & my anxiety went through the roof. All is well now thankfully.

catching up

I've gotten behind with a Christmas sew along. Last week i tried to get to the machine to catch up & manged to get 2 lots of blocks done.
I wasn't happy with these blocks so this week completely remade them. These are version 2.

So many half square triangles. That was it for another week & i'm still so far behind.

During the week i started this stitchery

A new Christmas one by Natalie Bird.

During the evenings i've been working on Mischief. I end up with aching fingers due to my osteo & whilst sewing row 1 & 2 together i tried flat back stitching. It is a little slow going but my fingers don't ache like they do if i whip stitch pieces together.
Row 3 nearly done. I am getting faster at the flat back. :).

Wednesday i managed time at my machine but because i remade the pinwheel blocks only 1 set of blocks was caught up on.
Still 2 sets of blocks to make & the bow week was to be started this week. I'm hoping to catch up on Monday.
Yesterday afternoon i prepped 47 coffins for my quilt.

Friday Night with Friends July

I started early with FNwF. It was a very cold rainy day so by lunchtime i gave up trying to do anything, sat down in front of the TV, turned Netflix on & started prepping more coffins. I was cutting doubles to share on a FB group i'm in but so far only one lady has said she'd take any.
After that i decided it was time to get stuck back into Mischief. I needed to add 3 or 4 purple rosettes to the 2nd row along with the black & the white pieces. Then onto stitching the rows together.
As i was taking this photo i noticed i missed adding a white piece to the end of row 2. lol.

Pop over to our lovely hostess Cheryll to find the links for who all joined in FNwF & what they got up to.

Anzac day 2024

They shall not grow old, as we are left to grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them.  Lest We Forget.
