Zooming .....

.... along with the Chook Shed Stitchers to celebrate Chookyblue's Chookshed 11th birthday. It was a lovely day chatting & stitching along with ladies from all over the world.

My project was to stitch the tumblers together. A little quilt popped up on Instagram on Friday & i asked the lady how many tumblers she used. 224 for hers so i'm 4 short. She said hers was 16 tumblers in 14 rows. Perfect for what i was hoping to make.

I managed 4 rows whilst chatting

I had already made a row & started on a 6th when i signed off Zoom for the night.

It shouldn't take me to long to make the other 8 up. :)

Tumblers.

Recently i've been seeing tumbler quilts made from small tumblers. A few years back in order to finish my coffin quilt with a straight edge in case i add borders i ordered a bag of tumblers. Little did i realise until they arrived that they were the wrong size. :(

I've been throwing my scraps of reproduction fabrics in a little plastic box for future use. Fast forward to last night & this is what i got up to. :)

There is 220 1 inch tumblers. I'll cover them all & then decide what to make. Most likely a doll quilt.

FNSI May

As yesterday was a sew in day hosted by Wendy it seemed a good time to finally put the binding on 2 quilts i'd recently sent to Fiona to work her quilting magic on.

1st quilt was Hannah & Harrington. It was a free pattern from Michelle of The Raspberry Rabbits many years back. I'm so happy i's finally a finish. Watching Godzilla in the afternoon saw the binding hand stitched down.

I gave it a wash this morning because when i was rinsing my tracing pen out of a couple of the blocks the red felt ran. The colour catchers did catch some colours but some of the red is there to stay in the fabric. Oh well i'll live with it. :)

Next quilt was a bom several years back. The pattern was Round We Go by Sue Daley. All EPP then appliqued onto background squares. I'd initially been going to get it in the usual types of fabrics until i saw a store offering it in Halloween fabrics.
I can't remember what i watched after Godzilla but i started hand sewing the binding down then took a break about 7 pm for shower & dinner, watched BH&G followed by Moving to the Country but at 10 pm i called it quits with about a 1/4 left to sew as i had a raging headache which i didn't want to turn into migraine.

Yay 2 more finishes off my UFO pile. Umteen dozen to go. :) :) lol. and trying hard not to add any as i reduce the pile.

Rainbow Scrap Challenge May

Oh is for orange & apparently i have very little orange fabric. I was really scraping the bottom of the barrel to find enough for 12 blocks. 2 blocks are actually leftover scraps from my Halloween quilt. There was just enough in one piece for a bow tie block & enough in the other for a churn dash with a small scrap over. :). I forgot i still had some of the African print stashed away so that was a lucky find to add into the Churn Dash blocks.

Last night i finished this embroidery. The pattern was just the stitchery no finishing instructions.
It will be a wallhanging. I just need to work out what i want to do with the borders.
