a ufo & finishes.

Sunday saw me making a few more gifts for the Bonnie & Camille swap then i got lazy & only finished the hand sewing yesterday. No i wasn't really lazy, migraine struck. :(.
Thread basket, teeny tiny pouch, key fob & pincushion. The pincushion pattern cut enough for 2 so i have another ready in the gift basket.
Here it is with my ufo pincushion finally finished after several months.
the other 2 sides of the mouse pincushion. Now i finally have my own. :)

Yesterday i went to my LQS as they are having a 2week sale. I picked up these for Natures Garden

Friday Night Sew In

Last night was time for this years first FNSI. My that time came around so quickly. As much as i love the sewing along it means another month has raced by all to fast. :(
I finished this cute little stitchery from Gail Pan. It was a freebie offered at Christmas through a blog hop.
Then i added some more stitches to my cross stitch. Thankyou Wendy for being our lovely hostess again. Pop over here to find the links to the other lovely ladies who joined in FNSI last night.

Natures Journey

I'd planned to make Anni Down's new quilt, Natures Journey, this year on my own but when Chookyblue announced it as her choice for this years stitch a long i was so excited. Makes it so much easier to stay on track with others stitching along. My pattern finally arrived after an issue which left me not very happy. I'd bought some shirtings as backgrounds but not knowing the sizes needed didn't buy enough. So i've ordered more & a 4th piece from the same shop. Needing 6 pieces i found 2 cream/blue pieces in another shop & they've been ordered. Now to find something i like for the pink based backgrounds. I bought a fat 1/4 pack of Astor Manor for no particular reason & when it arrived yesterday thought it would be great for Natures Garden. My plan had been to use repro/civil war fabrics like i did for Gossip In The Garden last year

stitching

Yesterday i made January's swap blocks for the Bonnie & Camille sampler quilt.
I had finished this stitchery Saturday night but wasn't happy with the white thread. Last night i changed it to a cream colour to try & get it to stand out more. It is for a swap & the brief was to, if possible, make the cat look like my partners cat.
As the cat is black & white that is what i did.

Friday Night With Friends.

Yesterday i joined lovely hostess Cheryl & 55 other lovely ladies in the first Friday Night With Friends for 2015. Enjoyed stitching with you all again. :) I started my day with working on the stitch along that was being run by Terry. All the blocks were finished last month & this month it was time to put it together.
My finished top from the Charming Stars Along. Last night i did some embroidery on a swap gift.

what i've been doing.

I had plans for lots of sewing over Christmas/ New Year but little got done due to heat & migraine. Very strange that i ended up with a 4 day migraine. I needed to trace a stitchery that we are doing to kick start our SAL whilst waiting for the pattern from Anni Downs. Whilst tracing i kept going & have several prepared now to work on.
That was Sunday's effort. Sunday & Monday night i spent embroidering & it was done. Yesterday i put it together
This is a free pattern by Anni. Next i caught up on my 6" sampler blocks.
I have 13 blocks now. On a roll i kept sewing & put the borders on this
All that is left is to add a little embroidery to the snowmen & along the bauble lights to link them together.
