FNSI December

I started a new project last night for FNSI. Tried hard not to start anything new but i couldn't resist this cute new pattern by Gail.
When i bought this pattern a little freebie card arrived along with it that had a cute little stitchery on it. This is what i made earlier in the week.
Thankyou Wendy for being a lovely hostess for FNSI. Pop over to Wendy's blog to find the links to see what everyone worked on last night.

Stitching

During the week i finished the 2 stitcheries that i started for FNwF. Although Pudding Ted is a pillow i'm going to turn it into a mini
I'm thinking a mini for the reindeer too.

FnwF December

Boy did this one come around fast. I think i missed 2016 somehow as it's hard to believe December is here already. Due to a few happenings yesterday i kinda forgot about the sew in until about 3-4 pm yesterday afternoon. Damn there went my sewing plans. Anyhoodle i grabbed out a couple of stitcheries i wanted to start. Got them traced & managed to get a few stitches in.
This cute little reindeer is a freebie on Michelle's blog. Thankyou Michelle. The other stitchery is a kit i bought a few years back & had forgotten about until recently. I was cleaning my patterns, mags & books out & tidying up those i'm keeping & there it was.
Pudding Ted also by Michelle.

Stitching away

Finished this little stitchery for a gift. It's supposed to be a cushion but i'm just going to add borders & staple it to an artists canvas. Before i do that i'll add a row of running stitch & buttons.

Last night i started this stitchery by Fig n Berry
Not sure what's with the photo's. Either a computer issue or a camera issue. Maybe Santa will be nice & bring me a new camera for Christmas. :)

FNSI November.

Not a thing sewn for FNSI. Seams my sewjo has gone on an early Christmas holiday without me. :(. Naughty sewjo. Sadly i haven't felt like sewing all week. All i have to show is where i am at with my EPP quilt Colonial Garden.
This row was nearly completed last weekend. It just needs the white shapes added along top above the green & coloured shapes added into the dips along the white octagons. Saturday night i added the white octagons around these

Friday Night Sew In October

Well i started my day with this kit. Spitting into a tube(not fun) to have my DNA tested to discover where my ancestors come from. Now to wait 6 to 8 weeks for the result.

Next up was some cooking
Chocolate chip cookies followed by
chocolate chip & banana muffins.

Then last night i started stitching this lovely little hanging
I ironed the transfer on about 2 days ago & it's disappearing on me. :(.

I finished these little ornaments earlier in the week. They were bought precut so they were done in a couple of hours.

My Sewing Week

I finished off my Christmas stitchery. Breathed a big sigh of relief when the last stitch went into the dreaded satin stitch.
Needs an ironing. lol. :) Then i needed to find a project to work on as i had none prepared or really fancied anything that might still need to be finished. I found this little cross stitch up
Forgot to press it before gluing it into the card. :(. That is what being exhausted does to you. The brain doesn't want to work. Next i found a Christmas kit i purchased years ago.
Finished these little cuties last night. Now to find another project to work on.

Friday Night with Friends October

I was hoping to work on the borders for the hexie quilt but i had a trip to the orthodontist with my daughter. By the time i got home i didn't feel like sewing. I did however pick up my embroidery last night.
I finished the vine on the top right corner & started the satin stitch. I really hate satin stitch but love the look of it. There is still quite a bit of satin stitch to do.

Stitchery

Whilst i was waiting to get into the patchwork shop to buy the border fabric for the hexie quilt i started this little stitchery.
Love this cute Christmas stitchery. It's from Fig 'n' Berry Creations. The thread i'm using is Hugs 'n' Kisses by Cottage Garden Threads.

I picked up the border fabric during the week. Now to summon the enthusiasm to sew it on. :)

FNwF September

I have been working all week on the hexie quilt & i'm getting bored but i want it finished. For the sew in last night i added the last 4 or 5 hexies on row 13. I have to stop now because i need to embroider the last 5 hexies i ended up without due to me miscounting somehow.

Hexie Quilt Update

Nearly 10 rows done. 4 left to go yippeeee. It's getting a little boring just working on this but i want it done out of the way. It, cross fingers, should be a flimsy by this time next week. :)

Happy Stitching.

FNwF September

Last night i joined in FNSI. Boy did September's sew in arrive darn fast i could hardly believe it when Cheryll's post popped up the other day. I worked on my hexagon quilt. It's slow going but it's getting there. Only 8 more rows of each to go. I managed to get row 5 finished, add the embroidered hexagons then start row 6 last night.

hexagon quilt prgress

It  is slow sewing on the hexagon quilt as they are a little awkward to sew together this way. All the papers that have been left in are getting all scrunched up. Nothing a good iron won't fix. I use the gluing method for the hexagons & have found that the paper unfortunately sticks to well to the fashion fuse i use behind the embroidery. So far i've only had one paper stick hard in the embroidered ones that tore to pieces. Hopefully it will be the only one. Not that i'm short on 1" papers. :)

Hexagon Quilt

Today i laid out the hexagons to get an idea how i want them to be sewn together as there are more pinks & blues than other colours. Got to the bottom & discovered I'd counted wrong with the embroidered hexies. I need 5 more. Oh well back to tracing & embroidering. Butvi did find i have quite a few flowers & cut out hexagons left over. 😊. Crappy photo & overcast day doesn't do justice to the lovely bright fabrics of Dilly Dally.

Friday Night With Friends August

I was going to start early with sewing but i needed to bake something to take to Mum's today. Once i decided to cook i went on a spree. :)

First up
Craisin Raisin biscuits followed by
date & nut loaf & lastly
banana struesel muffins.

Last night i stitched the leaves on my hexies.
i got one panel done & about half way through the 2nd.

Earlier in the week i finally finished all the flowers on that last panel shown in last weeks blog post. The leaves are all done on these 2 as well.
Hopefully i can get all the satin stitch done this week so i can place these hexies over papers & start sewing the quilt together.

Slow progress

The progress on the embroidered hexagons is slow going. I've still 18 left to embroider the flowers on. After that the leaves & the satin stitched centres. Hopefully turning them all into a quilt top will progress faster .:)

FNSI July

I had planned to start early but unfortunately the house work fairies were on strike. Then when i got the UFO out the magazines were missing. So the search was on. Had a thought floating about as to where they may have been but it was elusive. Lunch was in order while the thought percolated. Aha try looking in the pile of gardening magazines behind my chair. Yes there they were & i could finally proceed. So glad i didn't have to pull the house apart to find them.

Several years back i had made all the flowers needed for a hexagon quilt but had only traced & partly done 15 of the embroidered joiner hexagons. I needed 54.
An hour or so later & i had 39 traced hexagons. Last night i spent doing the satin stitch of these 10.
No my trouble is that i took all the embroidery thread from the box & i'm having a little trouble matching up the red i used for the flowers. It's a Cottage Garden Thread & i have several reds that could be it. But I found the green & yellow ok. Well that's a problem for tonight's sewing to sort out.

Finally a flimsy

Well it took oh so long but the Trip Around the World is finally a flimsy.
I must be crazy but i've another hand pieced project lined up but before i start it there are many more things to finish or at least get into tops.

Trip Around the World.

I've been working on this all week. This is as far as i got 3 nights ago. I'm still trying to decide on the triangles for the last row. Any suggestions. I'd have done more if it wasn't for my indecision about the fabric & a migraine.

Last night i finished this little stitchery that has been about half done for a few months. It's for the front of a bag.

Chookshed party Sunday sewing

I put together some owl stitcheries i was working on end of last year. I was supposed to be an Xmas present now it will be a birthday present next month.
Next project i'd started the stitcheries about 2 years ago & then finished them earlier this year.
First 3 blocks of Tail Feathers

I finished the hearts last night of the quilt from the last post.
Applique from The Guest House By Sue Daley. The quilt is way smaller than it should be due to the blocks not being cut properly when i bought it as a BOM. Tried to take photo outside but it's so windy this was the best i could get. The close ups below i took on my bed.

Well i had fun joining in with Chookyblue to celebrate her Chook Shed's birthday & achieved a fair bit of sewing.

Happy Stitching,

#4 Chookshed Stitchers Challenge.

At the start of March i had this pile of blocks. I couldn't get my head around how to turn all these differing block sizes into a quilt...
