Help Please

First of all a big thankyou again to all the lovely ladies who sent blocks for my 50th birthday quilt. I ended up with 48 with a few ladies sending 2 or 3.

First photo is all the blocks together with no sashing & adding 2 borders.
Also maybe a 7 by 7 plan rather than 8 by 6. I just need to add another block.

Second photo is with a 1" sashing, cornerstones & border followed by a wider border.
i've used a cream ton on tone but thinking maybe another coloured fabric. So suggestions please as to which layout. If you choose 2nd layout vote for cream or another colour.

    The blocks look gorgeous ... I like the blocks put together with the small smashing and maybe a nice mauve final border ...

    Love all your blocks! I normally love a cream tone on tone for something like this, but so many of your blocks have light fabrics in them (except for mine! LOL) that maybe something darker would look better. I have no idea what though. Sorry! :0)

    I like the sashing Jeanette maybe a darker colour than cream to make the blocks stand out?

    I like the sashing too with perhaps a darker final border. It is going to be lovely...what a treasure to have xx

    So many gorgeous blocks Jeanette. I think definitely a sashing looks better. Cream or darker - either would be fine

    I think either would be fantastic... but I kinda like the first one...with 2 borders. But whatever you choose I'm sure it will be wonderful! xox

    I like the sashung I like the cream and then go with a darker border do you have options we can see?

    lovely to have so many blocks to use Jeanette... I like the idea of sashing, & perhaps using a darker fabric for the border to really make the blocks 'pop'.
    I'm sure you'll give yourself plenty of time to make a decision & be happy with your result

    I do like the look of the cream sashing, coloured cornerstones would look lovely.
