Finally made it to retreat after lunch of Friday & thought to myself "must check that the machine foot hasn't fallen out". Talking to my daughter as i get stuff out of boot got distracted & didn't check. Just as well she hadn't gone far when i unpacked machine & could call her to bring the foot back. The blasted foot had fallen out. Only in the last few kilometres as we got out of the car in the town near retreat to have lunch, took pram out of boot & it wasn't loose then. Grrr.
First thing to work on was my blocks for Bonnie & Camille Sampler swap.
At night i worked on this
This was 2 nights work adding the green. The first night i went to bed early. Saturday i put this together
My 50th birthday quilt is now together. I just have to add the border fabric now i've bought it. Sunday i completed 4 blocks of this quilt before lunch & then it was pack up time.
The other 4 i did Wednesday. 4 more to go along with sashing & borders & my son has a quilt top. I'm just hoping it won't take me as long to turn it into a quilt as it did for me to finally sew it together. It's bee cut out for maybe 9 years. :)
FNSI saw me heading to the shops for fabric
also bag of buttons for $2 & ric rac for a project. The black & red are for the quilt above. I didn't really need it as i bought all the fabric & extra years ago but figured just in case it isn't big enough now for a queen size i'd better have the extra fabric. :) The lavender & the white are border & backing fabrics for the birthday quilt.
After the fabric shopping i just dithered around, decided it would be a good idea to get started on changing the book cases around. Now i have to wait until my new one is put together to get my books off the floor. Maybe it wasn't such a brilliant idea to get a head start. Sew did i sew anything for FNSI? Darn right i did.
I finished the last bit of embroidery in this Christmas stitchery then added more green squares to my Trip Around the World.
Pop over & visit Wendy our lovely hostess to find out what other ladies who joined in last night worked on.
Happy Stitching,
