It's been quite a while since i posted about my progress with my Vignette Hexagon quilt. I'm pleased to say i've completed the flowers & have made a start on the embroidered "stepping stones".
I can't remember how many flowers the quilt needed but here is the stack of them.
Lovely flowers all in a row. :)
My start on the embroidery last night. I'd traced out 15 of the needed 59 stones ages ago. I think i got the leaves of 11 done last night. Still a long way to go.

I'm all caught up.....
...on the stitcheries & applique at least from Fee's hexagon club. I still have to to turn them into hexagons. :) I had 8 months to catch up before month 9 arrives.
1 half of them,
2nd half of them. I discovered, much to my dismay, some of the Cottage Garden Threads i used ran. I'm hoping i can rid them of the dye later on when i've made the hexagons & can wash them.
The rest of my tennis/hostess sets arrived last week.
I didn't realise until i went to take a photo that these pair sit in the opposite direction to my other sets.
Another recent purchase was this
I've been wanting a pressure cooker for quite a while & recently Coles had them for $30. My daughter managed to get the last one at the Coles she works at. Yay for me. I tried the pea & ham soup recipe in the accompanying booklet & although it was tasty felt the ham hock didn't impart enough salt & we weren't keen on the green colour from the peas. I think i'll use the yellow split peas in future like i usually do & maybe add a little salt. Tonight i'm trying the meatball recipe.
Recently Loz posted about a mat for using with hand piecing. Took some finding but i found one.
It's a Matilda's Own non slip design mat. Also comes in A4 & will roll up so you can leave your piecing inside.

I've lost the month of May.
As usual i had big sewing plans & as usual very little was done. All i have to show are 2 finishes. I had started putting together the bag for the Stitch A Long nearly 2 weeks ago & had gotten to the bag handles when my daughter asked if i'd like to go shopping. Well i chose shopping as i really didn't want to work on the bag anymore & there it sat until yesterday as time was running out.
My finished bag. I was debating whether to do the back like in the pattern & in the end i did.
The back of the bag has a gap cut into it & yes it has a Purple lining. :) My other finish is for 1 Xmas Item, late i know as it was supposed to be posted on the 25th.
A table mat from Gail Pan's Christmas book. I also completed 2 more stitcheries from "Christmas" banner.
only 2 more to do & i can mark that as finished.

FNSI
After collecting the patterns for 8 months recently i finally started working on Fee's hexagon club. I've caught up on month 1 & 2 & last night started on month 3. There are 3 patterns a month. These are what i worked on last night.
The one on the left is still damp from washing my tracing pen out so the colours looks a bit dull.
Pop on over to Heidi's to see who else joined FNSI last night & what the worked on.

quiltmakers 100 blocks
Recently Michelle posted about being in Quiltmakers 100 blocks & i was sent my very own copy by Michelle.
Signed as well. :)
Can't wait to make this block up. These goodies were included
bunny ears for the Valdani threads, yummy choccies, felt & my very own The Raspberry Rabbits pen. Wandering around my plants yesterday i found 4 bush lemons ready to pick & a lonely ripe cumquat. There are others on the tree not ripe & i'm keeping a careful eye on them. It's not my first cumquat by any means as i usually lose them to fruit fly. Grrr.

Friday Night With Friends.
My day started early. I had stitcheries finished last month from a Gail Pan Christmas pattern that i didn't get back to sewing together. All the strips had been cut out as well. Yesterday was the day i decided. Plans didn't quite get fulfilled though. Some reverse stitching delayed completion. I did get it finished though, to the stage where all i need to do is quilt it, before i left for school pick up.
Next up was another Gail Pan design. This time from her Christmas book.
It's a little hexagon table mat. I was looking though my Cottage Garden threads & discovered i'm one short. Shopping trip for me :)
Pop over to our host Cheryll's for links to see what everyone else made/worked on last night.

What's new for me?
My bunny pin cushion/scissor holder arrived from Michelle last week. Made by Donna.
Gail's new book arrived Friday. I was lucky enough to have Gail sign it as well. :)
I was at the local Lifeline last week & purchased a punch bowl set. I put the box on the table & Bella immediately thought it was for her. I took the bowl out to as i wanted to look the cups over again & this is what happened
I don't have a cat in a hat i have a cat in a box. lol

Do you want to know a secret ?
Do you promise not to tell? oh, oh, oh closer, let me whisper in you ear.....More on that later.
I have to tell you about my belated FNwF. I had big plans, why do i even bother making plans? They never work out the way i want. I have the flu, then my day didn't go the way i planned but in compensation that is when i learned the secret so all can be forgiven. I started working on this late in the afternoon
had to stop thanks to osteo arthtitis & arthritis. That night i finished the wording on this
Started the last block
& finished it Sunday night. I spent all most all Sunday making these
apple & beetroot chutney, choko chutney, lemon butter & passionfruit butter. I have to show you the cake from the Clandsetine Cake Club book. I chose to make Dutch Chocolate cake first
Now about my secret & forgive me if i yell it out but it's such exciting news. I'M GOING TO BE A GRANDMA. YAY. Happy Dance in my house.
