last minute August finishes & Gossips

Finally made it to the sewing room today. 1st finish this little bag

2nd up was this sweet little hanging

The last week i've been working on this months blocks for Gossip In The Garden

75 hexies in this lot. :) I decided today to sew together what could be sewn & then laid the blocks all out for a progress shot.

All i have left is the blocks that go in the gap at the top, a plain border & then the pieced border. Not long now until it's a finished flimsy.

My Friday started reasonably early. First off i spent time cutting out these

for a Bonnie & Camille charm swap i'm in. Next up was some pincushions i started some months back. It took longer than i expected so only one is finished. the other all cut out.

The cut out one waiting patiently for me to put it together. By this time it was evening & i got to stuffing this

a big cushion block for my GS. It's only been waiting since June for the stuffing. :) Then last night i sort of worked on my stitchery

I'm seeing stars

Saturday i spent carefully tracing & cutting out the pieces for the periwinkle stars. I think it was 180 pieces all up. I only managed to get 2 made Saturday so back at it Sunday & here is the result.

Lovely little stars in a row. Well 3 rows actually. :) Next i added the to the block they are to go around. Only 3 sides as the 4th has something else added that we haven't worked on yet.

& the block i worked i did the embroidery on Friday night i added it's borders.

I think we only have 2 block sets of Gossips to go & then the outside borders. Each block set has several blocks involved.

Friday Night With Friends.

Boy 1st of August came around quick. Another great opportunity to sit with Friends & sew hosted by our lovely hostess Cheryll. I spent my evening finishing off buttonhole applique & starting the embroidery on the next blocks for our Gossip In The Garden Stitch Along. Today i'm tackling 15 pieced periwinkle stars. Wish me luck with those. :)

 

 Newish camera & no matter which scene i select to use the photo's are crap. I have to take heaps in different spots & then pick the best from them. Anyways pop on over to visit Cheryll to see what the other lovely ladies who join FNWF worked on.
