Update May Chookshed Challenge

At the start of the month this is where i was at with Owl & Hare Hollow. I knew i wouldn't get it into a top as there is just so much hand work in this quilt. Here is where i was at to begin with at the start of the month.

The 2 stitcheries were done

Then i spent many days prepping blocks & starting the hand stitching.
Month 1.

Month 2. I went with buttonhole applique as needleturn just wasn't happening. That tail is so tiny, :)

Month 3

Month 4

Month 5

Month 6. The little pieced blocks are the outer border corner stones.
All i have left to do now beyond all the hand work is make a pieced border. That can wait until i'm ready to sew the blocks together. Now to get ready to start Junes challenge. :)

Lucy Boston

I've been making up a Lucy block every now & again for a while so when i finished one the other night i thought i'd better do a count to see how many i had. I got a surprise when i counted them. :)

Total count is 43. The last count was 34. Number 44 was started last night
Another reason to do a count was i'm running out of these shapes & i really don't want to buy more. I guess it's time to start joining them together. Oh i just have another12 to make. :) :).

FNwF May

An early start saw the making of the green blocks for RSC. I'd cut them out Thursday afternoon so i could get stuck right in. :)

the easy block first, potato chip. :)
then the fiddly buttons
followed by the kites.

The evening saw me finishing the last 2 blocks of the Beanie stitcheries. Yay finally all 42 are done. I can concentrate on Owl & Hare hollow hand work now. :)
the one on the left just needed the satin stitch done & both blocks needed the beanies stitched.

Thanks Cheryll for hosting last night.

Happy Stitching,

Chookshed Stitchers Challenge for May is.......

number 8. Time to break out Owl & Hare Hollow & try to get it made into a top. I was doing well with the stitcheries when the quilt first came out & just stopped when i have 2 i think left. Nothing else was done with the remaining blocks as you will see in the 2nd photo the pile of fabrics that came with the kit.

Happy Stitching,
