FNSI December

Well here we are, the last FNSI for 2025. :) Project of choice for me was Mistletoe Stocking Swag by Fig 'n' Berry Creations. The red pieces do hav stitchery traced on them, i hope i can see it when i start stitching them. The others came as iron on so i was disappointed when i found none for the stockings.

Stitching projects

Not sure where it came from but i had this cross stitch project for several years. I dragged it out maybe 2 years ago & stitched the 2 rows under merry & hrist. Dragged it out again after i finished the sashiko & ta da i finished it last night. Now i need to get a frame for it.

As you can see it's tiny & stitched on linen. I had to stitch over just 2 threads. More fun & games. LOL

Next up was a sashiko project i bought off a seller on FB. After looking at the tiny little picture that came with it i thought i knew why it was sold off. No instructions. I couldn't figure how it was stitched with so many lines going every where. So it sat & sat. It wasn't until i bought the Celtic Christmas tree & learned a few things that i figured out how to stitch this project into the star shapes. You see i didn't know the stitch lines were soluble in water as the instructions were missing or so i thought. Today pulling out the red fabric that is for the border lo & behold out fall the instructions. Why they were hidden in there I've no idea.
It needs a press as i just soaked it this morning & was so excited about it i just had to take a photo. :) :) So glad this is another project/kit crossed off my list.

reindeers

A while back Julie showed that she had made little reindeers with candy cane "horns" for her grandies. "Hmm good idea i might do that". What started out as 3 morphed into 6. My son met a lovely lady earlier this year who has a little girl. I showed him Julie's photo & said i would also make one for S. Well then he pipes up & says "do you have read felt" he loves red. Next thing i know he wants one. I said to him "what are you 5" :) :) He's in his 30's.  Now the total is 5. Asked my daughter would her step son H want one. He's 15 but didn't want him to feel left out or was he to old for such things, nope he'd love one. Now i'm at six. lol

So yesterday was the day of making them.

Some fun & games for sure & if i make them again i will be changing a few things in the way they are made.

I found a random bulb starting to flower the other day & yesterday it finally opened
I can't remember what they were in this pot. Then i spotted the achimenes are flowering
and Mum's mini rose has one lonely little bloom :)
Plants & flowers are managing to survive despsite the heat & storms which i'm pleased about.

Sashiko

I finished the celtic Christmas tree last night. I've seen them with crystals added so i may do that before framing it.

Now i need a new project to stitch at night. :)

Santa is done & now......

......... onto a new project. But first is my little angel thingie which was also a freebie kit. I made it up before starting Santa. This was also a fun & games thing. I thought i'd achieved getting it into shape quite well but it had a slight accident when i was Christmas decorating.

Ta da Santa is done & dusted

and now for something completely different
a sashiko celtic Christmas tree. It is my first ever sashiko.  Now i just need to buy thread for my other sashiko project. :)

FNwF December

I have this Santa cross stitch given as a freebie last year i think. Last weekend i made a start, zooming along real well i thought. I'd started in one area & wanted to continue using that colour so i counted carefully several times, or so i thought, the number of squares & merrily went on my way stitching. Bugger those areas didn't match. Unpick that first area & hope for the best again. Nope went to add another colour & Something not right still. About this time i was seriously considering binning the darn thing. It's not like this was my first cross stitch either. :)

So for FNwF hosted by Cheryll i was determined to get it done. I'd stitched quite a bit when i thought i should take a photo to post on Facebook FNwF. :)

Almost done

just a few stitches where the green thread is & then it is onto the black outlines.

I'd been worried my desert roses had carked it as they were taking a long time to get their leaves back. They'd all been nicely repotted & the stems weren't showing any die off so i couldn't figure what was wrong. Finally after weeks & weeks success leaves were appearing. I've been keeping a close eye for flowers but only 1 has flowered so far(i have 4 desert roses)

it has lots of blooms on it this year. This was the only open one. Cross fingers the other get flowers too. :)

Pop over here to see who joined in.
