FNwF February

Goodness me February already & last night was time for FNwF. I joined in with 24/5 other lovely ladies, Pop over to visit our lovely hostess Cheryll to find the links to who all joined in.

I started early. I'm in a doll quilt swap so i started my day with making that up. Gosh the pieces are tiny.
I started hand quilting it yesterday afternoon.

Then i wanted to clear another ufo off my pile. one sewing folder done.

I then got back to adding hexagons to the quilt in my previous post. I didn't quite get the top done to give it back to the lady today. :(
All i had left was the grey hexagons in this corner. Now i need to add the half hexagons & fill in the side spaces.

Thankyou for having us again for the sewin Cheryll.

Hexie Quilt.

I've been a little busy on the hand sewing front for a few weeks now trying to get a quilt top done. I posted 4 of the flowers in my last post. A lady had started making the quilt but has been unable to finish. I offered to help & discovered it was all hexagons, no machine sewing whatsoever. :) She hadn't made many flowers or butterflies so i had to cut out a lot of the flowers & tack them along with the making up.

So here is where i'm up to. I'm hoping to have it all done by Saturday next week. I really hope she likes what i have done. No pattern just an idea she thought of.
I have just one more row of flowers then 3 butterflies & grey hexagons are added to the top. After that it's the filler pieces.hexagons are 2" ones so they are a bit large & awkward to sew together.

FNSI January.

Last night i joined in with 25 ladies for the first Sew In for 2019. Pop over to Wendy's blog to find the links to who all joined in & what projects they worked on. Thankyou Wendy for hosting us again this year.

My first project was to turn my snowman into a cushion. I added the backing during the morning & stuffed the pillow in the evening.

The next project was my pansy cross stitch scissor keep. I added the backing, tassle & cord in the morning & stuffed it ready to go in the evening.

Next project was this little owl i'd stitched last year. It was supposed to be cut out around the owl & turned into an ornament but i went with a hanging instead.

Binding sewn down in the evening, bells added & already in it's new home with my daughter.

A stitchery i had stitched last year was next. It took me a little longer than i'd hoped as i needed to applique it to the background, quilt around it & then add the buttons before even doing the back part which took a little while to do. :)
Front
Back. And Voila! a nice new bag for my projects. The binding was sewn down in the evening as well.

Last night i made these 4 hexie flowers.

A bit of sewing.

The border fabric arrived yesterday for Send My Love bom so today i sewed it to my top.

Next i added borders to the first 2 blocks for this years bom from Gail Pan called Merry Bright.
The running stitch was added this evening around inside of border.

The extra project for this month is a pillow. I added borders this morning & then did the quilting this evening.
Hopefully I'll add the backing tomorrow & then stuff it.

After that i finished off this little ufo.
Then this ufo

Send My Love bom

Today i finally managed to get some machine time. I should've been working on ufo's but i chose to put my bom together.
I had hoped I'd find border fabric in my stash but unfortunately none of my blues matched. Luckily the shop i bought my blue fabric from still has some of Blue Barn range in. 😊😊.

1797 Revisited

Is finished except the sides which i'm still deciding on. The original used all colours but i'm thinking all red or all brown. I'll have to lay fabrics out & see how it looks.

FNwF December

Last night i joined in the final Friday night sew in for 2018. Goodness hard to believe another year has flown on by & we'll soon be in 2019. Thankyou to our hostess Cheryll. I sewed along with 13 other lovely ladies.

First thing i did was to trim & turn back the 1/4" seam ready to applique.

Next i made binding

I had hoped to cut out a felt project but had to lie down for a while due to back issues. :(

Last night i did the applique
All the blocks for Send My Love bom are completed. Just in time for Gail Pan's new bom for 2019 which will be all about Christmas. Can't wait to start that one.

Last week this quilt arrived back from Fiona & i managed to get the binding sewn completely down last night. Thankyou Fiona for the wonderful quilting you've done.
Pattern was from joypatches many years ago. I started the blocks & it was put aside. Then a year or so ago i got stuck into it, finished the blocks & made the top up.  I'm so happy it's finally made it to the finish line.

Pop over to Cheryll's to see who all joined in last night & the projects they worked on.

Snow Happy Hearts.

I didn't get Novembers done as time just seem to race by. Yesterday i prepped both November & December blocks & stitched them last night. So happy i managed to mostly keep up & now they are all done.

November

December.

Now to figure out how i want to put it together.

Christmas decorating

Yesterday was the designated decorating day. In my house it's the first Saturday after my birthday or the 1st of December, whichever comes first & yesterday they both happened to be the same day. :)

Found some space along the hallway today to hang 2 more decorations. :)

I wish i had room to hang all my decorations. :) I don't usually do the hall but this year i did so my bigger hangings could be on display. Sadly my 2 real big ones still can't be hung as i've not a large enough wall space.

Sourdough adventures

Recently i was talking to my son about getting some starter & having a go at making my own bread. I'd been going to order a starter...
