Basket quilt

I've been contemplating for a while making a basket quilt using these two shapes. One has a diamond centre the other an oval centre. Yesterday i made a test block to see how it would go. I traced the shape onto the front of the fabric & then tacked it to the background. It took me ages to tuck the seam allowance under neatly. I wanted to try this method out before cutting backgrounds & baskets. I think i'll go back to the freezer paper/starch method i usually use.

I'll  use this little block as a label.

Happy Stitching

It's good to try new options BuT comfortable to stick with tried & tested methods. Sounds like a lovely project...xox

Smart move giving it a test run first. Much better to find the way you work best.
