FNwF March

 Yesterday was time for

Cheryll is our lovely hostess & can be found here.

I debated signing up as i'm in the middle of packing to move. I had hoped to get the next 6 blocks of The Schoolgirl Sampler done but i really didn't have the time to choose fabrics, cut & sew.  As I needed to get my doll quilt quilted since it is almost posting time for our swap i decided to get that done out of the way.

I finished sewing the binding down in the evening when i could sit & relax.

Next up was to piece a backing for a quilt that i am getting quilted soon. I found a rather large piece of fabric in my SIL's stash that was just perfect. That done it was back to packing & cleaning. :(

I had to make the decision to take my beautiful ginger cat Garfield to be put to sleep. He had developed an aggressive face cancer which couldn't be treated. Yesterday was the day. It seems really strange to not having him waiting to be fed, or seeing him curled up asleep anywhere.

He is over the rainbow bridge now with my other kitties Evie & Lucy so he is not alone.

The quilt i'm having quilted was partially handquilted by my SIL & i need to get it unpicked. I sat for quilt a while in the evening doing that before darkness had me quit. Need daylight to see all those tiny stitches. :)

Then it was back to Karma.

I added this rosette & the red around it.

& started another for this row of Karma quilt.

Pop over here  to find the links to who joined in last night.

Happy Stitching,

sorry to hear you had to say goodbye to kitty.... horrible in the midst of all the upheaval for you..... you got quite a bit of sewing done - probably good to put away the packing for an evening and have some fun me time stitching....

so sorry to hear about your cat - its always a difficult time.

Sounds as if you have found a place to move to so that is good - but packing is no fun!
Nor is unpicking . . . :-(

I'm glad Garfield has good company over the Rainbow bridge but I'm sad for your loss of his company. We love our kitties & dogs and wish they could stay with us forever but that is just not possible. Adorable little doll quilt. You did a good job!

#4 Chookshed Stitchers Challenge.

At the start of March i had this pile of blocks. I couldn't get my head around how to turn all these differing block sizes into a quilt...
