I started to stitch this topper last year but like all things it was pushed aside. It finally made its way back to being a priority to finish. I did leave something off - the satin stitched ribbons, mine are just back stitched. As lovely as it looked on Leannes i knew i'd never finish if i did the satin stitch.

Sewing roll
Our private online group had it's first swap of the year & we were to make a sewing roll/case. Shez has let me know the roll i made her has arrived.
The front of the roll/case which i showed the back of in my last post.
Inside i made pockets to hold needles & thread holders, a quick unpick, scissors & a pin keep. I also sent Shez a fat 1/4 & Easter eggs but i forgot to take a photo of it all together.

FNSI & a finish
Last night i joined our lovely host Wendy for Friday Night Sew In. I had been going to start early & prepare a block for applique but got involved in a book & couldn't put it down. In the end all i did was work on this
appliquing the leaves on this border piece. Almost 1 border finished just 1 to go after that. :)
My finish i can't really show you as it's for a swap. I'll show you the back. :)

FNwF
I started my Friday Night with friends early. I needed to get out my collection of repro/civil war fabrics & of course they are all stored in a crate underneath another crate aren't they. Then came the task of choosing fabrics for the project i'm making. That decided on it was preparation time & this is the result.
Last night i started sewing down the applique. This is the block chosen to start with in a group sew along for Gossip In The Garden by Anni Downs. I had no intention of joining in let alone starting another new project but my arm was twisted & the culprits know who they are. :)
Pop on over to visit Cheryl our lovely hostess to see what the other ladies who joined in last night worked on.

Goodnight Irene & ......
Monday i went to sew & realised as it was March i'd better get my March row done for Terry's sew a long ready for the link up. No mistakes this month. The x blocks were sewn together the right way. :)
My first 3 rows.
...... what i've been working on
adding these borders to a ufo. Only 2 blocks so far out of 5. They are so time consuming these little borders. Off now to try & get the other 3 done & then the 4 pinwheel blocks.

1st finish for March......
.....and yes it was a ufo. Same story, did the stitcheries oh so long ago & put it away whilst looking for fabrics to go with it. Found the fabric & still it sat tucked away in a box. Finally it's turn arrived. I had actually started Friday after i finished the wallhanging but i had a tiny visitor who is much more important to me than sewing that sewing just fades away to the distance. :)
Sewing cushion by Bronwyn. It was in one of her books many years ago.
Inside is 3 pincushions, the strip next to them holds your thread cards & the right is 3 pockets. Up the top is a ribbon for you to tie your scissors in.
Yesterday i decided to try out a breakfast bake recipe i found.
It is so yummy
my share. :) But as yummy as it was i think it's more of a dessert really.
