Flower Day

This is the way i decided to join my 1" hexagons. I chose a bone(?) colour as my joining hexagons. Kind of gives me a path but not. I haven't progressed very far since i last posted about my hexagons nor have i made anymore 1/2" & 1/4" hexagons. I worked out that with the 100 or so 1" hexagons i can sew them together 10 by 10. Be a lap size quilt by the time i've finished or a nice cover for a table. I'll have 4 over but if i add the ones i got for Christmas & make another 2 i can add another row to make it a bit longer. Just have to hope i have enough of the fabric i've used for the joining hexagons.
I think i've got 10 along the bottom & 9 in the next row.
This close up shot gives you a better idea of the colour i ended up using as the stepping stones. I'm happy with it so far. When i divided the flowers into colour piles i discovered i'd made far more greens than any other colour but there isn't any doubles. :)

Oh my is that going to be beautiful! I can't believe how many you have already. I think the bone colored fabric was a great choice as a connecting fabric. Beautiful!

Great select for your stepping stones. I like how they separate the flowers but not totally.

It is looking very nice, quite the accomplishment also, not to have any doubles.

I like the bone color you chose...looks very nice! When I sorted my final flowers I ended up with way more blue than the others. Not sure if I have any duplicates. I'm right behind you in my quilt assembly. Progress feels great, huh!

What a fantastic job, I love the bone colour between the flowers. Really enjoyed dropping by your blog & what a wonderful surprise to see you are from Ipswich..... I'm an old Brisbane girl (we lived in Wynnum North & moved south in 2002), my Dad lives at Rosewood. Anyhow, you have inspired me to get working on my flowers again LOL

#4 Chookshed Stitchers Challenge.

At the start of March i had this pile of blocks. I couldn't get my head around how to turn all these differing block sizes into a quilt...
