Birthday Blocks.

Blocks have been arriving for my birthday quilt. It has been so exciting to see them all.
Some of the blocks have been sent to me but quite a few were given to me yesterday by the lovely ladies at Sunday Stitchers. I love them all. Everyone is different & unique. Thankyou so much to everyone that has made me one. There is still time to send blocks if anyone would like to. Read about my request here.

Also at Sunday Stitchers when there is a birthday we give the birthday girl fat 1/4s. Because we were combining November & December birthdays 3 of us had our fat 1/4's given to us yesterday instead of next month.
The lovely selection of fat 1/4's i received. They are all gorgeous.

My Saturday sewing

I decided to tackle the next big block in the Moda Modern Quilting Blocks. Yep the 36" one. Deciding on fabrics was fun. Eventually i found 2 fabrics big enough to cut out 14 x 7 &-1/4" blocks & the 19-1/4" block & that matched. Plenty of tone on tone in the cupboards for the 14 x 7-1/4" block. Then i was set. Because only pictures are shown & how many of each size to cut you pretty much have to wing it about how to sew together. I did mine a little bit the long way. :( So making the block took far longer than it should've. :)
This is it. I'm quite happy that it came together really well despite my back to front sewing. Glad that is over & done with. I was too tired last night to do much of anything. I finished the 1/2 completed little stitchery from Friday night, 2 more were completed & a 3rd one started.

FNSI.

Yesterday i joined our lovely hostess Wendy for Friday Night Sew In. I started my day by sewing the next 2 blocks for the 6" sampler i'm doing.
Antique Tiles,
Jacob's Ladder.

I've signed up for a online BOM called Women Of The Bible Quilt. Every 2 weeks you get 2 block patterns emailed to you. The BOM can be found here if you wish to join in.
This block is called Eve.
& this one Rachel (and Leah).

The afternoon was spent tracing out stitcheries.
30 little Xmas ones that are tiny hexies when completed.
I managed to get 4 done last night & the 5th nearly complete.

Thanks Wendy for hosting us again & pop over to follow the links to what the other lovely ladies who joined in worked on.

Happy Stitching,

2014 Winners !!!!!!!

Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On
When speaking of the champions
One stands above the rest
Of glories old and records proud
When often put to test
Of fine traditions, history
That others cannot best
They wear the red and green
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On
They mauled the Balmain Tigers
Slew the Dragons from St. George
The Seagulls and the Mounties next
Were crushed with mighty force
They humbled Parramatta
And the Berries in due course
They wear the red and green
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On
They plucked the Western Magpies
Slashed the Newtown bag of blue
The Eastern Suburbs rooster crowed
And then was conquered too
The greatest name in any game
Within South Sydney grew
They wear the red and green
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
Glory, Glory to South Sydney
South Sydney Marches On.

Charming Stars Along.

This months blocks for Charming Stars Along. The pinwheels i make from the left over triangles are finding homes with the lovely ladies in the B & C sampler swap. Glad i decided to follow our sew along hostess Terry's lead instead of throwing the bits out.

FNWF

Most of the morning was spent tracing out stitcheries after cleaning up the mess in my sewing room.

Can't show you what i was tracing as it's all secret stitching but it's all in this little pile. :)
As it's now October it's time again to start making blocks for the B & C sampler swap. I'd found a pattern online called Lancaster Star. Here is my version.
Last night saw some embroidery happening.

Thankyou Cheryll for being our lovely hostess. Visit here to see the list of ladies who joined in FNWF last night
