2 more quilt ufo's finished. :)

Recently i had Fabulous Fiona quilt 2 more of my ufo tops & i finally did the binding yesterday. I love the quilting on both tops. It's just beautiful. Both of these quilt tops were made back in 2014.

The first top was a quilt along by Terry It's called Goodnight Irene. Great quilt for using up scraps.
& a close up of the quilting
2nd quilt was a Christmas quilt along run by Lori & it's called Have Yourself A Quilty Little Christmas. Another quilt made up of mostly scraps.
& a closeup of the beautiful quilting.
The thread is all glittery.

Snowman Hearts

It's time for May update of the Snowman Hearts i'm stitching with Karen, Shez & Joan. I'm a couple days late as i've had no sewjo lately. Found some up yesterday & prepped May's boms. Maybe i should've done June's as well whilst i was in the mood. Lol

Quinces

Several years back i discovered the local fruit shop & Woolies sold quinces. I bought some to give quince jelly a try as i'd heard how nice it was. I was lucky for about 2 seasons. But after that i couldn't find them in the shops. This year some lovely ladies with either their own trees or access to trees were making quince paste & i was wishing to get quinces to have a go. Checked Woolies & nothing so thought i'd look in the local fruit shop without hope of getting any. I couldn't believe my eyes when i discovered they had them in stock. Yay for me. So over the weekend i set to making quince paste. Not sure it's come out the right colour but it sure does taste yummy. :)
I didn't have any containers to put them in so i followed the recipe of lining ramekins with cling wrap. Now to get some nice cheese & crackers to eat the paste with,

Happy Stitching or Cooking as the case maybe. :)

FNWF May

Last night i joined in Friday Night With Friends hosted by our very lovely hostess Cheryll. I chose to continue working on my coffin quilt as i have been all week.

The first photo is where i was Thursday night
You can see on the bottom left i had 2 coffins sewn for another row. 2nd photo shows i finished that row & started another.
It's nearly wide enough for my bed. Another 2 rows & then i'll start adding coffins at the top to make it the length i need. After that i'll add 4" borders to the sides & it will drape down nicely over the mattress. Sadly for me this means the 1000 coffins i made will not be enough so it will be back to prepping more soon.

Cooking.

My lime tree did well this year so i decided to have a go at making lime curd again. Seems to have turned out ok.
Just the 2 bottles from 4 limes. The eggs from my chooks have made the curd a darker colour.

FNSI April.

Yesterday was a perfect day for sewing but i just couldn't summon any sewjo to do so. I mostly read all day but last night i did do some embroidery.
I satin stitched the red sock, the spots on the present, outlined  he reindeer's nose & the spots on his antlers which i then started the satin stitch on.

Thankyou to Wendy for being our lovely hostess again. Pop over to Wendy's blog to see who all joined in & what projects they worked on.
