I can now show you the tote i made Sandy for the Snickerdoodle swap. Sandy emailed to let me know it has arrived safe & sound in Texas.

One Flower Wednesday

Actually i have 2 flowers for today. I've 2 more cut out ready to sew & just prepared another 6 to cut out. I think i've been bitten by the hexy bug. :)

Also this finally arrived in the mail yesterday. I bought it through the Book Depository & they did say there may be delays due to the volcano erupting. I've started reading & so far so good.

Patterns & Fabrics

Forgot to show some recent purchases & some fabrics given to me.

Sue mentioned using a sewing cushion for embroidery, applique & hand piecing. Figured i could use one too & purchased Sue's pattern. It's paper pieced & came with the papers.

I'd seen this very cute pincushion made up & thought it so adorable i just had to get the pattern. I was lucky the lovely Linda had it in stock.

Jenny was having a clean up of fabrics & she thought of me & how i love purple. I knew Jenny was sending me a "little" something but was so surprised when i opened the parcel. Lucky, lucky me. :)

Needed this for a project & finally found some. Why is it when you don't want a particular fabric you can buy the whole roll but when you do want it you can't find it?.

1st May Finish

My bonus son really liked the lady bug i made for an exchange last year & has been asking me to make one. So instead of playing World of Warcraft today i prepared some applique, printed out more hexagons for Wednesday & finally made the lady bug,

..... which i can't show you as it's for a bag swap. It was sent off today to my swap partner in Texas. All i can show you is a sneak look. I sure hope Sandy likes it. :)

One Flower Wednesdays

I made it, just. I joined this a week ago but only had the chance yesterday to print out the hexagon shapes. Only cut out enough for one but it didn't take long to sew together. Lest We Forget

It is Anzac Day here in Australia. We remember those that gave our lives for us. I'm off to watch the march in the little town i grew up in, in Northern NSW. My father is a World War 2 veteran & he will be in the march. He served in the Navy. My grandfathers, may they rest in peace, were World War 1 veterans. 1 was a Light Horseman & the other in the Army. I'm proud of my father & grandfathers.

vintage hexagon challenge finished

After much deliberation & mind changing this is what i made from the hexagons Lyn sent me. I was going to handquilt it but had some problems so unpicked all that & machine quilted it. As per instructions every bit of fabric used came from my stash. 1 more finish for me. :)

Found The Easter Bunnies

My Bunnies have turned up. I think they may have been visiting the Bunnies at Janet's blog.

They are so cute. Pattern was in the recent Homespun by Angels In Disgusie.

I recently spotted this stitchery on a blog somewhere. It's all blackwork. Be a change for me from redwork.

Spotted this recently on Jo's blog. I've been wanting this pattern since seeing it made up on Sarah's blog the end of last year. I ordered it straight away & Jo told me i was her first customer. :)

Yesterday was sewing day at the patchwork shop. All i planned to buy was some reproduction fabrics for the Civil War quilts & some florals for Lisa's BOM.

Which i did until it was time to leave. Then i spotted these & they had to come home with me. :)

An Embroiderer's Blessing. Gorgeous embroidery from Crabapple Hill.

And Barri Sue Gaudet's new book. Lots of lovely goodies to make from this book.

This pattern was bought because Judy suggested we do a group sewing project. And as it's nice & easy it's right up my alley. :)

Never Smile At........

A Crocodile. :)

Recently Clare mentioned on her blog about people offering to test her patterns. I offered her my help if she needed more. Clare sent me this gorgeous critter to make to test the pattern.

My 8 year old scored the crocodile & has taken him for show & tell today.

I also sewed & stuffed these carrots for the naughty bunnies who seem to be hiding somewhere. If you see them send them around to get their carrots please.  The tutorial is on Clare's blog for the carrots. So that is 12 carrots & 1 crocodile, mmm 13 more finishes for March. :)
